New 2020 Ford Expedition – Power
Best-In-Class EPA-Estimated Fuel Economy
When you look under the hood of the 2020 Expedition Platinum, you'll see where power and performance meet fuel efficiency. That's because its 3.5L EcoBoost® engine churns out 400 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque while delivering a best-in-class EPA-estimated rating of 17 city/24 hwy/20 combined mpg.
3.5L EcoBoost® Engine
EcoBoost® technology powers performance in the Ford Expedition. Experience impressive responsiveness with the powerful 3.5L EcoBoost, compliments of two technologies: direct injection to help maximize power, and twin air-to-air intercooled turbochargers delivering a surge of on-demand power.
Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control™
Hill start assist and Hill Descent Control help keep your vehicle's power and capability under control, particularly when you're towing. When you're stopped on an incline, standard hill start assist automatically works with the anti-lock brakes to hold the vehicle in place for up to two seconds while you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator. On 4WD models, you can activate standard Hill Descent Control so the braking system automatically engages as needed to help keep you in control while descending a steep grade.
Continuously Controlled Damping
Continuously controlled damping can help provide some protection against jarring impacts and costly tire repairs resulting from road imperfections.
Independent Front and Rear Suspension
For a smooth ride, independent front and rear suspension delivers better handling and cornering with better stability and steering than a solid axle.
10-Speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission
The 10-speed SelectShift® transmission has a wide ratio span and optimized gear spacing that helps improve responsiveness and performance during acceleration.
New 2020 Ford Expedition – Technology
Technology for Confidence and Connectivity
The Ford Expedition for 2020 offers a wide range of available technologies to help keep you aware of your surroundings and ever-changing traffic conditions. From the driveway to the highway, the standard Ford Co-Pilot360™ and standard FordPass Connect™ have you covered and connected. Other available technology includes smart-charging USBs and wireless charging, navigation and a 12-speaker B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen.
Auto High-Beam Headlamps
Confidence that's always looking ahead. Auto High-Beam Headlamps can sense poor lighting conditions and switch on to light your path ahead. They can even sense oncoming headlights and dim automatically, so you don't have to worry about blinding other drivers.
Pre-Collision Assist With Automatic Emergency Braking
If the system's sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian in front of you, a warning flashes and an audible alert sounds. Also, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake. If you do not take corrective action and a collision is imminent, the brakes can automatically apply.
BLIS® With Cross-Traffic Alert
BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert uses radar to identify if a vehicle is detected in your blind spot and can alert you with an indicator light in the appropriate exterior mirror. Cross-Traffic Alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you as you're slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. If cross-traffic sensors detect a vehicle approaching, you will be audibly and visually alerted. BLIS with trailer coverage is standard on the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package.
Lane-Keeping System
The Lane-Keeping System can help you stay in your lane, even during a moment of distraction. This smart feature scans your vehicle's position between the lines in the road ahead and can alert you if you're starting to edge out of your lane. Having trouble staying on track? After you've drifted a few times, you'll see a coffee cup icon, letting you know it's time to take a break.
Rear View Camera
The Rear View Camera provides a video image on the standard eight-inch LCD touchscreen of the area behind your vehicle. The camera is activated when you shift into Reverse and back up slowly. The screen has guides to help you align your vehicle with a trailer or assist you with backing up in tight places.
Enhanced Active Park Assist
While you're driving slowly near parking spots, activate this available feature and your Expedition will scan for an available one. Ultrasonic sensors measure your distance from parked vehicles and, once an appropriate spot is identified, you're signaled to stop and accept the system's assistance. With a few actions on your part – shifting, accelerating and braking – the vehicle can smoothly parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space.
Adaptive Cruise Control With Stop-And-Go
When the class-exclusive Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go sensor detects traffic slowing ahead, it can bring the Expedition to a complete stop, and you can accelerate back up to the preset speed if the vehicle in front moves forward. Included in the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist Package.
FordPass Connect™ with 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot
With FordPass Connect,™ drivers and passengers can enjoy an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot. It features a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, powered by AT&T. Up to 10 devices can connect at once, and you can use FordPass™ to keep track of your Wi-Fi data usage. Also, you can access the hotspot from up to 50 feet outside the vehicle. Standard on all 2020 Expedition models.
USBs and Wireless Charging
Stay powered up on the go. 2020 Expedition offers six available USB ports plus a center console wireless charger, so all your devices stay humming and ready to use at a moment's notice.
Dual-Headrest Rear Seat Entertainment System
Introducing even more reason to consider Expedition your home away from home. The available Dual-Headrest Rear Seat Entertainment System provides a next-generation video experience that allows passengers to view their home cable programming on either of two video screens or handheld devices. They can play DVDs, plug in a gaming system, stream from a mobile device, and with a Slingbox they can even watch live TV. Now available on all 2020 Expedition series.

Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
